Brief about Corona Awareness drive in South Goa District
COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by WHO on 11th March, 2020. Corona Virus has spread across the entire nation and state of Goa is also affected by the same. South Goa district administration headed by Shri Ajit Roy, IAS Collector,South Goa has taken an Initiative to educate people and to create awareness among the people regarding Corona Virus and its related issues in order to reduce the anxiety among the public and to provide correct information regarding COVID19. District administration in association with Dr Ruhi Saith (Senior Consultant in Public Health) and Nikita Purty (Asst Consultant) at Oxford Policy Management (OPM) and input from members of the BITS PIlani Goa Campus has designed the training package for creating awareness through Information ,Education and Communication Activities among the people through awareness drive across the entire district which has 7 Talukas. Initially training of Master Trainers was held who would be conducting awareness sessions Taluka wise. Subsequently awareness drive was started in Sanguem Taluka and has been going on smoothly and has very high response of the people. The said awareness drive would be taken across the entire district and will be completed in months a time.
