One District One Product (ODOP)

The Government of Goa and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India have been taking various steps to promote exports from the Country and to boost industrial development and export promotion.

 One of the major step towards export promotion is to realise the potential product from each district of the Country.  DPIIT has launched One District One Product (ODOP) a major step towards export promotion, to identify potential products from each district of the Country which has its own unique specialities need to be explored to convert each District into a global manufacturing hub and a leading exporter fuelling economic growth, generate employment and rural entrepreneurship for achieving the Goa of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

 The idea is to select, brand and promote ODOPs for enabling holistic socio economic growth across all regions.  The mandate of ODOP initiative includes identifying, understanding and solving problems associated with each of the chosen products at all points in their respective supply chains, improving the market accessibility of the chosen products and dedicated handholding of the producers to harness export potential from that region.

 The Invest India Team under Ministry of Commerce & Industry has identified two products namely ‘Cashew nuts’ and ‘Feni’ to be developed from each District of the State of Goa.
